MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Donald Warren Sloan, on October 28, 2013, at the age of fifty; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Donald Warren Sloan, the beloved father of Max; dearest son of Emily and the late Derral; loving brother of Nina Bean, Susan (CL) Williams, and Sherri (Ray) Kurz, Doug (Gail), Larry (Judy) and Ken; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews and friend to all who knew him. Donald leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, An active and vital member of his community, born on January 18, 1963, Don was a devoted father, selfless brother and uncle, and a loyal friend; and
WHEREAS, Don will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty-sixth day of November, 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Donald Warren Sloan and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald Warren Sloan.
