CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO JOHN DeJULIO ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM
THE ALBANY PARK COMMUNITY CENTER.
WHEREAS, John DeJulio is retiring from the Albany Park Community Center on September 29, 2017, following more than thirty years of dedicated service; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this special event by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, In June 2004, John retired as a Physical Education Teacher at Casimir Pulaski Elementary School (now called Pulaski International School of Chicago) where, for more than 40 years, he taught all age groups from preschool to 8th grade. In addition, from 1970 until 1990, John ran a residential summer camp that served children with disabilities from the Chicagoland area; and
WHEREAS, Arriving at the Albany Park Community Center in October 1984, John is retiring as the School Age Director having worked with children kindergarten through 13 years. It is estimated that at the Community Center alone, John has touched the lives and the hearts of more than 3,000 children over the past 33 years; and
WHEREAS, For more than three decades, John has proven himself to be a dedicated and faithful employee who has contributed greatly to the efficiency and mission of the Albany Park Community Center. A valued leader and pillar at the Albany Park Community Center, John has earned the respect and admiration from his colleagues and is an inspiration to all who know him; and
WHEREAS, Although John will be sorely missed by his colleagues, retirement will give him more time to devote to his many friends and his family, especially his four children and 13 grandchildren; now, therefore
