ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
Section 1. Chapter 9-64 ofthe Municipal Code ofChicago is hereby amended by adding a new section 9-64-112 and by inserting the language underscored, as follows:
9-64-110 Parking is prohibited - Roadways, sidewalks, bridges and similar locations. It shall be unlawful to stand or park any vehicle in any ofthe following places:
(a) On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of a street;
(b) Within an intersection, except on the continuous side of a "T" intersection;
(c) On a crosswalk;
(d) On a sidewalk, except as provided in section 9-64-112 (b);
(e) On a parkway, except in case of an emergency or except as provided in section 9-64-112(b);
(f) Upon any bridge, except those located on North Stockton Drive between North Avenue and Diversey Parkway;
(g) In a viaduct or underpass;
(h) On any railroad tracks or within a distance of ten feet from the outer rails thereof.
9-64-112 Two-wheel on-curb parking zones.
(a) Subject to the approval of the city council, the commissioner of transportation is authorized to establish two-wheel on-curb parking zones in any block of any residential two-way street and to designate such zones by placing and maintaining suitable sighs or markings when all of the following requirements are met:
(1) the width of the two-way street in the proposed two-wheel on-curb parking zone is not more than 30 feet;
(2) vehicles can be parked on both sides ofthe proposed two-wheel on-curb parking zone; and
(3) the establishment of the proposed two-wheel on-curb parking zone is necessary to maintain sufficient width of the roadway for free movement
^ of vehicular traffic.
(b) Notwithstanding subsections 9-64-110 (d) and (e) of Section 9-64-110 of this Code, any person may stand or park a vehicle with two wheels on the curb on both sides of a two-wheel on-curb parking zone.
Section II. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
