ORDINANCE

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. The City Council finds that the areas described in Section 2 of this ordinance are adversely affected by the over-concentration of businesses licensed to sell alcoholic liquor within and near the areas.

SECTION 2. Section 4-60-022 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by inserting the underscored language as a new subsection 4-60-022 (50.243), as follows:

4-60-022 Restrictions On Additional Licenses.

Subject to the provisions of subsection 4-60-021 (c), no additional license shall be issued forthe sale of alcoholic liquor, for consumption on the premises within the following areas:

(50.243)       On the east side only of Western Avenue, from Touhy Avenue to the point where Birchwood Avenue intersects with the east side of Western Avenue.
