RESOLUTION HONORING MOTHER FANNIE MURRY ON HER 100th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that the City Council of the City of Chicago is hereby informed ofthe observance of Mother Fannie Murry's One Hundredth Birthday; and
WHEREAS, Mother Fannie Murry will celebrate her Centennial Birthday, Sunday September 1, 2013, thereby reaching a milestone few are fortunate to achieve; and
WHEREAS, Fannie and Marshall Murry were united in holy matrimony and shared forty-eight years of happiness together with their twelve children. They were both born in Mississippi and worked in the cotton fields. This loving couple moved to Chicago and Marshall Murry was employed as a construction worker while Fannie took care of their home and their children; and
WHEREAS, Mother Fannie Murry, an enthusiastic, active, and much-loved citizen has had a fulfilling life. She never smoked, drank nor drove a car. Fannie actively continues to do ministry work and be of service to others. She has instilled strong spiritual morals to five generations and continues to stress the importance of respect towards others; and
WHEREAS, Mother Fannie Murry is a remarkable person and an inspiration to all who have reached their centenarian years and a treasured matriarch to her grateful and loving family; and
WHEREAS, Cognizant of the history to which Mother Fannie Murry has both witnessed and contributed, this devoted and cherished wife, mother, grandmother of thirty-two, great grandmother of fifty-two, great-great grandmother of forty-three, good friend and neighbor, is richly deserving of the adulation and good wishes she is offered as she celebrates entering her second century; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Carrie M. Austin, Alderman of the 34th Ward, has apprised this august body ofthe milestone observance of Mother Fannie Murry's centennial years; now, therefore,
