RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, William J. Fashingbauer Sr. has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 87 to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, William J. Fashingbauer Sr., lifelong resident of Chicago-Canaryville neighborhood, passed away peacefully into eternal life on December 1, 2021. Beloved husband of Mercedes nee Keating; loving father of the late Bill Jr. (Denise) Fashingbauer, Ray (Karin) Fashingbauer, and Lucy (William) Young; cherished grandfather of Matthew, Nicholas, Ryan, Michael, Rachael, and Richard; dearest uncle to numerous loving nieces and nephews; and
WHEREAS, William was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Anna Fashingbauer nee Freund, and his siblings Elizabeth, Albert (Nora), Theresa (Dan) Magliano, Rose (Bob) Brinkman, Nick, Anna (Paul) Heinisch. William was devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Gabriel Parish, where he was very active in the church choir; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared William to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this fifteenth of December 2021, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of William J. Fashingbauer and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT-FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William J. Fashingbauer.
