RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Northwest Side Housing Center (NWSHC) is a 501(c)(3), Illinois nonprofit organization that opened in June of 2003 in response to the housing needs of the residents of the northwest side of Chicago. In 2007 NWSHC was approved by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development as a certified Housing Counseling Agency; and,
WHEREAS, Northwest Side Housing Center provides free housing counseling and financial education in English, Spanish, and Polish. They assist first-time homebuyers, along with helping people get back on track financially, and saving homes from foreclosures; and,
WHEREAS, On Thursday, May 7, 2015, Northwest Side Housing Center will be hosting their annual "Celebrate Home" dinner. Celebrate Home is the Northwest Side Housing Center's largest annual event, and will be a celebration of twelve years of engaging, educating and empowering the community, making it a safe and affordable place to live; and, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this 6th day of May 2015 A.D., do hereby offer our heartiest congratulations and commend Northwest Side Housing Center for their dedication and service; and,
