RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Quinn has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 87; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Quinn was the loving wife for 66 years of Neil; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Quinn was the much-adored mother of the Honorable Carolyn, Thomas and Leslie, the grandmother of four and the great-grandmother of one to whom she imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that she possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Quinn established a business called Pacesetter that provided on-site personnel for conventions in need of staff to help with logistics and credentials; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Quinn spent a half-century volunteering in Chicago for organizations where she used her administrative and communications skills; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Quinn was active in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra where she became Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Quinn served on the Board of the Chicago Humanities Festival and the Women's Board of the Ravinia Festival; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Quinn was a Past President of International Women Associates which creates connections among people of diverse international backgrounds; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Ruth Ann Quinn serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Ann Quinn was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Ruth Ann Quinn imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twentieth day of September, 2018, do hereby commemorate Ruth Ann Quinn for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
