RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING REVEREND ALVIN LOVE, FOR 27-YEAR LEADERSHIP OF LILYDALE FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH AND 35 YEARS AS AN ORDAINED MINISTER
WHEREAS, His many friends and faithful followers will gather to pay tribute to Reverend Alvin Love, who, for 27 years has been the dynamic Pastor of Lilydale First Baptist Church on Chicago's South Side, and who is also celebrating 35 inspired and inspiring years in the Gospel Ministry; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Alvin Love, a most beloved citizen, spiritual leader, and towering figure in Chicago's great thirty-fourth ward community, was called to the ministry of Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1975, and was ordained in 1980; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Love, an alumnus of Chicago's Lindblom Technical High school, completed his degrees in psychology and theology at Trinity Christian College and graduated cum laude in 1982; and
WHEREAS, Under his Pastorate, the Lilydale First Baptist Church has experienced spiritual and physical prosperity. Rev. Love has been: President of Baptist General State Convention of Illinois, Inc.; Moderator of Greater New Era Baptist District Association of Chicago; current Chair of the National Baptist Convention, U.S.A., Inc.'s TOPIC Ministry; Biblical Coordinator for the International Sunday School Lesson; President of Developing Communities Project; Trustee of Trinity Christian College and Faith Based Advisor to President Barack Obama; and
WHEREAS, Symbolic of the strength and solidity of family life, Rev. Alvin Love, is married to the former Carolyn Knowlton, who became his bride in 1976. Four years later they were blessed with the birth of their son. Rev. Alvin Love celebrates this great occasion with his lovely wife, their son, Brandon, many friends, and their extended family at Lilydale First Baptist Church; and
WHEREAS, In a lifetime filled with inspiration and strengthened by a solid religious foundation, the Reverend Alvin Love continues to reach out and touch many lives; and
