MEMORIAL RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Judy E. Szafraniec was called to her eternal reward on February 18, 2013, at the age of 63; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Judy Szafraniec was an active and vital member of her community. The loving mother of Noah (Karen) and Peter (Julie) Szafraniec; beloved daughter of the late Mildred (nee Hopkins) and the late Herman Burmeister; cherished grandmother of Luke and Leo Szafraniec; dear sister of Lucille (Tom) Schwedler; fond aunt of Heide (Kevin) Murray, Mandy (C.J.) Kafprzyk and other nieces and nephews; former wife of Wayne Szafraniec, Judy leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and

WHEREAS, Judy Szafraniec will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this thirteenth day of March 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Judy Szafraniec and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
