RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Robert Fuchs has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 85; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Robert Fuchs was the loving husband of the late Miriam; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Robert Fuchs was the much-adored father of six children and eleven grandchildren to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, A native of Chicago, the Honorable Robert Fuchs was raised on the North Side and graduated from DePaul University; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Robert Fuchs served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War and returned to Chicago where he earned his law degree from DePaul University; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Robert Fuchs enjoyed a long and highly successful career as a tax accountant and in 1961 moved his family from Chicago to suburban Cary; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Robert Fuchs distinguished himself as an active civic leader and served as a Village Trustee before being elected Mayor; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Robert Fuchs presided over the growth of Cary whose residents voted to establish a park district and build a new village hall and library; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Robert Fuchs concluded his public service in 1976 and retired from the Detroit office of the accounting firm of Deloitte in 1991; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Robert Fuchs serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable Robert Fuchs to his family members, friends and all who
knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Robert Fuchs was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers;...
