Title: Tribute to late Diann Thomas

WHEREAS, On Sunday, December 2, 2012, the Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom called to her eternal journey Diann Thomas; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed ofthis by 18th Ward Alderman Lona Lane; and
WHEREAS, Diann Thomas was born on October 7, 1950 in Henderson, Kentucky. Diann was the only daughter of eight children from the union of the late Virgie Lee and Paul Willis Thomas; and
WHEREAS, Diann was a free spirit who loved life and enjoyed hers. She accepted Christ at an early age and rededicated her life to Christ when she joined Trinity United Church of Christ. Diann was blessed to bare one child, Terrence Thomas whom she adored, and cherished; and
WHEREAS, Diann was preceded in death by her brothers Paul, Stanley, Richard Lee, William Donald; and a grand-daughter, Angel Thomas; and she leaves to cherish her memory, son Terrence T. Thomas; grand-daughters, Terris and Heaven; grandsons, Joel and Malik; brothers, Gary, Gregory, Brent and Virgil Thomas; her adored niece, Yugunda Haney; and a host of other relatives, and friends; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here in assembly this seventeenth day of January, 2013 A.D., do hereby express our sorrow on the passing of Diann Thomas and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy ofthis resolution be prepared and presented to Diann Thomas' family.
