Resolution Celebrating Locke Elementary School's Elizabeth Perez
WHEREAS, The 36 Ward and all of Chicago is full of great schools and great students that rarely get the recognition they deserve; and, ;
WHEREAS, Locke School is a great example of one of those terrific schools, filled with great students, parents, teachers, staff; and,
WHEREAS, 7th grade student, Elizabeth Perez, represented Locke School in the Citywide Spelling Bee at Lindblom High School on March 15th, 2018; and,
WHEREAS, Elizabeth competed with the best spellers from 135 schools across Chicago, with the Final including the top 50 spellers in Chicago Public Schools; and,
WHEREAS, Elizabeth finished in the top 10, making the Locke Community and all of the 36th Ward extremely proud; and
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this 28lh day of March 2018, do here by celebrate the hard work and persistence of student Elizabeth Perez; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Locke School, Elizabeth Perez and the entire Locke Community.
