Resolution Celebrating Locke Elementary School's Elizabeth Perez

WHEREAS, The 36 Ward and all of Chicago is full of great schools and great students that rarely get the recognition they deserve; and, ^;

WHEREAS, Locke School is a great example of one of those terrific schools, filled with great students, parents, teachers, staff; and,

WHEREAS, 7th grade student, Elizabeth Perez, represented Locke School in the Citywide Spelling Bee at Lindblom High School on March 15^th, 2018; and,

WHEREAS, Elizabeth competed with the best spellers from 135 schools across Chicago, with the Final including the top 50 spellers in Chicago Public Schools; and,

WHEREAS, Elizabeth finished in the top 10, making the Locke Community and all of the 36^th Ward extremely proud; and

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this 28^lh day of March 2018, do here by celebrate the hard work and persistence of student Elizabeth Perez; and

Gilbert Villegas Alderman, 36^th Ward

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Locke School, Elizabeth Perez and the entire Locke Community.
