MEMORIAL RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned ofthe death of Martin D. Quinn, on February 10, 2015, at the age of sixty-two ; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and

WHEREAS, on April 6,1952, this devoted son was born to Mary Lou, nee Rochford, and the late James L. Quinn. Marty was the beloved husband of Noreen Egan; loving father of Matthew and Monica Quinn; dear brother of Louise (Susie) Lichter, Bridget Copeland, John (Dona), Rita (the late Robert) Smer4ch, Ann (Brandon) Leavitt, Michael (Julie), Jere (Gunita), Jean Sloan and the late James P. Quinn; kind uncle and great uncle of many nieces and nephews in the Quinn and Egan families; and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Marty leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and

WHEREAS, Marty was an active and vital member of his community who touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity, heart and spirit. He was very imaginative, talented and the proud owner of MQC Construction Company, improving the homes and lives of many. He could often be found in the kitchen or in front of a grill at many family gatherings. Included among the many things he enjoyed are Monday night bowling, sailing on Lake Michigan and cooking for John Murray (Uncle Jack). He was "dog whisperer" to Stubby and Coco. He was thought by many as the MacGyver of duct tape. Never speaking a harsh word about anybody, he was generous with his time and his tools. Marty and his quirky sense of humor will always be remembered. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
