MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR IRENE GODEK
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Irene Godek at the age of 91; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on March 31,1926, Irene was the adored daughter of (the late) John and Mary Cieslathe; devoted wife of Fred Godek; loving mother of Fred and Robert (Dorothy); cherished grandmother of Amanda Godek and Hillary (Ryan) Collins; treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Irene leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Irene touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, compassion and vivacious spirit. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and member of the City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this seventeenth day of January, 2018, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Irene Godek and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Irene Godek as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
