SALUTE TO BENJAMIN PETER GRACA UPON ATTAINING THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT
WHEREAS, Benjamin Peter Graca, a member of Boys Scouts of America Chicago Area Council 118, River Trails District 47 and Troop 474, is an outstanding young citizen of Chicago's great 23rd Ward who will be awarded scouting's highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout will be bestowed upon Benjamin Peter Graca by the Boy Scouts of America at a Court of Honor ceremony held on Saturday, April 20, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Benjamin Peter Graca has dedicated his time, service and loyalty to the Boy Scouts of America. Throughout his time, Benjamin Peter Graca has gained knowledge on the significance of community, family, and honor; and
WHEREAS, Benjamin Peter, Graca has personally benefited from his commitment to the Boy Scouts of America. His experiences have made him a physically strong, mentally awake and a moral young man; and
WHEREAS, Attaining the rank of Eagle Scout is achieved by only two per-cent of boys who enroll in the scouting program. In order to become an Eagle Scout, a scout must earn 21 merit badges in addition to completing several community service projects. Benjamin Peter Graca has completed all requirements and has been examined by an Eagle Scout Board of Review who has certified his worthiness for this highest scouting distinction; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Michael R. Zalewski, Alderman of the 23rd Ward has apprised this august body of this auspicious occasion and the significant honor accrued by Benjamin Peter Graca; now, therefore
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, assembled here this 13h day of March, 2013 A.D., do hereby salute the success of Benjamin Peter Graca of Boy Scout Troop 474, on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and wish him every success in any and all future endeavors he may wish to undertake.
