RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Honorable James Schreier has been called to eternal life by the wisdom pf God at the age of 82; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman JEdward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Beloved son of the late Melvin and Lillian Cody Schreier; loving brother of Sr.'Mary Kay Schreier, and Eileen (DrCarl), dear uncle of Carl Joseph (Kristin), Christopher John (Katherine), and Marc Anthony, proud great uncle to Henry, Madeline, James, and Ted, and
WHEREAS,.Jim attended,Christ the.King School(1954), St. Ignatius High School (1958), Georgetown University (1962), and earned his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law (1965); and
WHEREAS, Jim was a generous supporter ofthe Catholic education; and
WHEREAS, Jim was elected Associate Judge by Circuit Court Judges in 1977, was appointed Circuit Court Judge in 2005, and retired as Supervising Judge for the Circuit Court of Cook County Criminal Division; and
WHEREAS, He was an avid tennis player; and
WHEREAS> To his beloved, family, Jim imparts a legacy of generosity, compassion, devotion tofamily and unwavering faith in God; now,-therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members ofthe Chicago City, Council, assembled this fourteenth day of December, 2022, do hereby commemorate Jim for his.grace-fjlled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable: copy ofthis resolution be presented to the family of Honorable James Schreier.
