RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Delbert Arsenault has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 76; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Delbert Arsenault was a longtime executive with the YMCA and the loving husband of Barbara; and
WHEREAS, Delbert Arsenault was the much-adored father of Jeffrey and Bradley and the grandfather of three to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Delbert Arsenault was the dear brother of Carolyn; and
WHEREAS, Raised on the Southeast Side, Delbert Arsenault earned an undergraduate and master's degree from George Williams College in Hyde Park which trained many future YMCA executives; and
WHEREAS, Delbert Arsenault enjoyed a career with the YMCA that spanned nearly four decades in social service; and
WHEREAS, Delbert Arsenault was a member of the Board of Aurora University for seventeen years where he will be fondly remembered for his integrity and leadership; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Delbert Arsenault serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Delbert Arsenault to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Delbert Arsenault imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-second day of February, 2017, do hereby commemorate Delbert Arsenault for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
