MEMORIAL
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, God in His Infinite Wisdom has called to his Eternal Reward, Freeman Peterson, beloved citizen and friend, April 26, 2013; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Anthony Beale, Alderman of the 9th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born in Chicago on July 17, 1928, Freeman Peterson was the loving son of Annie Brooks and Freeman Peterson. His parents instilled strong morals and values throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, Freeman was raised in Kenneth, Missouri by his mother and stepfather, Eddie Brooks. He moved to Chicago and attended Wendell Phillips High School. He attended trade school and became a certified technician. Freeman retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed life and traveling extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean; and
WHEREAS, Freeman Peterson was a vital and active member in his community and will be sorely missed. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Ann; daughter, Joyce; sons, Lewis (Ethel) and Freeman (Jerri); brother, J.W.; step sons, Byron, Daron and Mario; four brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many friends; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this 26th day of June 2013 A.D., do hereby express our sorrow on the passing of Freeman Peterson, and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy.
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Freeman Peterson.
