RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Mark Vallas has entered into eternal life at the age of 24; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Mark Vallas attended St. Rita of Cascia High School in Chicago and recently moved to Los Angeles, California; and
WHEREAS, Mark Vallas was the youngest of three sons of Paul Vallas, a former Chief Executive Officer of the Chicago Public Schools, and Sharon, a former police officer and daughter of former Palos Heights Mayor Dean Koldenhoven; and
WHEREAS, Mark Vallas was the beloved brother of Paul and Gus; and
WHEREAS, Mark Vallas was the dear nephew, cousin and friend to many; and
WHEREAS, A dynamic young man, Mark Vallas brought joy into the lives of his family and all those he met; and
WHEREAS, The goodness and compassion of Mark Vallas serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Mark Vallas to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Mark Vallas imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-eighth day of March, 2018, do hereby commemorate Mark Vallas for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
