MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Harold Hogen on October 17, 2013, at the age of seventy-five; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on April 8, 1938, Harold was the beloved husband of the late JoAnne, nee Knapp; loving father of Maureen (Chris) McMullen, Michael (Kim), Mindy (Matt) Cassidy and Margaret (Steve) Heidersbach; adoring Papa of Michael, Theresa (Nick Harvey) and Heather McMullen, Michael, Nicholas and Amanda Hogen, Shealyn and John Cassidy and Cullen, Cate and Camryn Heidersbach; great-grandpapa of Tristan McMullen; fond brother of the late George (the late Betty) Hogen; and, friend of many, Alan leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, As a member of St. Vincent De Paul Society and St. Edward's Holy Name Society, Harold was an active and vital member of his community. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this thirteenth day of November 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Harold Hogen and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Harold Hogen.
