MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
 
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Jane Marshall Nagle, at her home in Lake Bluff, on October 6, 2014, at the age of eighty-eight; and
 
'   WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, Bom on August 20, 1926, in Hartford, Connecticut, Jane was the beloved wife of the late Fred W. Nagle, loving mother of Betsy (Jo Colleran) Nagle and Peter (Margaret) Nagle; dear grandmother of Wilson and Elizabeth; and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Jane leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love;and
 
WHEREAS, Jane was an active and vital member of her community. She was a retired bank manager for Chase Bank in Lake Forest. She enjoyed playing golf at the Lake Bluff Golf Course, was an active member of the Lake Bluff Women's Club and was an avid gardener and a Member-in- Good-Standing of the Alpha Fluka Sorority; and
 
WHEREAS, Jane touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, her generosity, her heart and her spirit. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her, now, therefore,
 
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this fifth day of November 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Jane Marshall Nagle and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jane Marshall Nagle as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
