RESOLUTION EXTENDING CONGRATULATIONS TO ROGELIO AARON GARCIA FOR ACHIEVING THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT
WHEREAS, Rogelio Aaron Garcia, a member of the Boy Scouts of America Scout Troop 1439, will be awarded Scouting's highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of this special occasion by the Honorable Marty Quinn, Alderman of the 13th Ward; and
WHEREAS, As Rogelio's Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project, he lead and organized a community effort to collect and deliver essential personal items for resident veterans at the Edward J. Hines, Jr. VA Hospital; and
WHEREAS, Attaining the rank of Eagle Scout is achieved by only two percent of young men who enroll in the scouting program. To become an Eagle Scout, a Scout must earn twenty-one merit badges in addition to completing several community service projects; and
WHEREAS, Rogelio Aaron Garcia has completed all of the requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout and has been examined by an Eagle Scout Board of Review, certifying his worthiness for Scouting's highest distinction and now joins the ranks of many successful and influential Eagle Scouts; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor, and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this sixteenth day of March, 2016, do hereby extend our heartiest congratulations to Rogelio Aaron Garcia on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and wish him every success in all of his future endeavors;
Be It Further Resolved, that a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Rogelio Aaron Garcia.
