RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, Roger Pascal has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 74; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Evanston, Roger Pascal was a widely admired member of the legal community and the loving husband of Martha "Missy"; and

WHEREAS, Roger Pascal was the much-adored father of Deborah, Diane and David and the grandfather of three to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, Roger Pascal was the dear brother of Charles and Ross; and

WHEREAS, Roger Pascal graduated from Highland Park High School and the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor before earning his law degree from Harvard University; and

WHEREAS, Roger Pascal enjoyed a long and highly successful legal career at Schiff Hardin where he chaired the law firm's litigation division; and

WHEREAS, Roger Pascal's pro-bono work on behalf of the American Civil Liberties Union helped to better the lives of foster children and the mentally ill; and

WHEREAS, Roger Pascal helped to found the Moran Justice Center in Evanston which assists young people in the Juvenile Court system; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Roger Pascal serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Roger Pascal to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, Roger Pascal was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Roger Pascal imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this thirteenth day of January, 2016, do hereby commemorate Roger Pasca...
