RESOLUTION CELEBRATING THE 70^m BIRTHDAY OF SUSAN VAUGHAN

WHEREAS, On January 29, 2011, Susan Vaughan, an active citizen and member of her community celebrates the end of her seventh decade; and

WHEREAS, Susan Vaughan was born in 1941 and raised in Chicago's Little Italy neighborhood where she attended Our Lady of Pompeii Parochial School and was at the top of her class; and

WHEREAS, Susan Vaughan successfully raised two sons, Philip and Anthony, as a single mother on this city's northwest side. She saw to it than they, too, had the advantage of a Catholic school education as had she so they attended both St. Pascal's Parochial School and St. Patrick's High School; and

WHEREAS, Susan Vaughan is currently the president of the Italian Social Group of St. Mary of Sambuca; and

WHEREAS, For her birthday, Susan Vaughan plans to take more than 30 family and friends to the Grand Geneva Hotel in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for an entire weekend birthday celebration; and

WHEREAS; The Honorable Patrick J. Levar, Alderman of the 45^th Ward, has apprised this august body of Susan Vaughan's significant life milestone; now therefore

BE IT RESOLVED; That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, assembled on this 9^th Day of February, 2011 A.D., do hereby salute Susan Vaughan on the occasion of her 70^th Birthday and wish her health, happiness and success in all her future endeavors.
