Resolution
Whereas, Dr. Frank Arthur Raila departed this present life on September 6, 2014; and
Whereas, The City Council has been notified of his passing by The Honorable Harry Osterman, Alderman ofthe 48th Ward; and
Whereas, Dr. Frank Arthur Raila was born in Chicago and served as a PFC in the US Army during World War II. Dr. Frank Arthur Raila also served in the US Army Reserve Medical Corps and received a Combat Infantry Badge and US Army Achievement Medal; and
Whereas, Dr. Frank Arthur Raila was director of the M4 Radiology Program at the University of Mississippi Medical School served on the UMC Faculty Senate, and became an ABR certified neuroradiologist; and
Whereas, Dr. Frank Arthur Raila was the recipient of numerous awards during his 45-year medical career from colleagues and peers and was an avid reader and passionate supporter of the arts; and
Whereas, Dr. Frank Arthur Raila is survived by his two sisters, Dolores (Abderholden-Antioch, IL), Florence (Lessner-Santa Rosa, CA,), sons Frank (Pineville, LA), John (Alexandria, LA), Philip (Alexandria, LA), James (Pineville, LA), Mathias (Elmer, LA), Joshua (Brandon, MS), daughters Paula (Sydney, AU), Simone (Boudreaux-Alexandria, LA), Andrea (Chicago, IL), Nicole (Christchurch, NZ), and seven nieces and nephews, 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was married and divorced three times, predeceased by his first wife, Harry Lee, survived by second and third wives, Maria and Antoinette. Now therefore,
Be it resolved, that we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this day of October 8, 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Dr. Frank Arthur Raila and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be it further resolved, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to thejamify of Dr. Frank Arthur Raila.
