TO THE HONORABLE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO
Ladies and Gentlemen:
I transmit herewith a resolution honoring the life and memory of Bishop Frank Munsey. Your favorable consideration of this resolution will be appreciated.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Members of this Chamber were deeply saddened to learn of the passing on February 5, 2011, at age 80, of Bishop Frank Munsey; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Frank Munsey was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 11, 1930;
and
WHEREAS, Frank Munsey left school early to attend the Apostolic Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma under the tutelage of C. P. Williams, the founder of the school; and
WHEREAS, After his formal religious training, Bishop Frank Munsey became an evangelist and moved to Wisconsin; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Frank Munsey met his wife, Ruth, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where he went to preach at a home missions church being established there. In 1951 the happy couple married in Tulsa, Oklahoma; and (
WHEREAS, The couple left Tulsa and moved to Hammond, Indiana. Bishop Frank Munsey found a pentecostal family to join with him in services, which were first held in the American Legion Hall on January 17, 1954; and
WHEREAS, By the end of 1954, Bishop Frank Munsey moved his church to what was once an abandoned house in Hessville Park, Indiana; and
WHEREAS, On Easter, 1957 Bishop Frank Munsey opened his new church at 7147 Kennedy Avenue in Hessville Park, Indiana, and in 1972 the church erected a new building with 33,000 square feet in Griffith, Indiana; and
WHEREAS, From 1965 through 1991 Frank and Ruth Munsey served actively as missionaries and traveled to eighty-eight countries, spreading the Word of God; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Frank Munsey was a humanitarian ofthe first order, someone who deeply cared about people not just in thought but in action. He was a dedicated family man, who will be missed by his relatives and friends alike for his warmth, energy...
