MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of George E. Anderson, on June 11, 2015 at the age of eighty-three; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39lh Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on October 1, 1931, George was the beloved husband of Carole Jeanne, nee Nielsen; loving father of the late John C. (LyAnne); proud grandfather of Christopher George; dear brother of Lennart (Mary Ann) Anderson and brother-in-law of Marilyn Schiefelbein, Charles Nielsen and Niels Nielsen; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. George leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, George was a United States Army Veteran who served in the Korean Conflict; was a member of the Swedish American Museum and the National Fishing Lure Collectors Club; was the former owner and principal photographer of Studio Associates in Chicago; and
WHEREAS, George was an active and vital member of his community who touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity and spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him, now, therefore.
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this seventeenth day of June 2015, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of George E. Anderson and express to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George E. Anderson as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
