RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, Eugene M. Zemsky has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 88; and

 

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke and Alderman Raymond Lopez; and

 

WHEREAS, Eugene M. Zemsky was the loving husband of Delores; and

 

WHEREAS, Eugene M. Zemsky was the much-adored father of Alan, Judy and the late David, and the grandfather of three to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

 

WHEREAS, Eugene M. Zemsky enjoyed a long and highly successful career as a local businessman and entrepreneur; and

 

WHEREAS, Eugene M. Zemsky was the owner and operator of Zemsky's, a friendly chain of family-owned apparel stores located throughout the Chicago area, for over sixty years; and

 

WHEREAS, Together with his wife, Delores, Eugene M. Zemsky also founded the Eugene and Delores Zemsky Charitable Foundation; and

 

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Eugene M. Zemsky serve as an example to all; and

 

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Eugene M. Zemsky to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

 

WHEREAS, Eugene M. Zemsky was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

 

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Eugene M. Zemsky imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore

 

 

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members ofthe Chicago City Council, assembled this thirteenth day of March, 2019, do hereby commemorate Eugene M. Zemsky for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Eugene M. Zemsky.
