City Council July 22nd, 2020
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Howard Douglas Odum Jr has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 72 to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable; Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11 th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Howard Douglas Odum Jr., beloved husband of Frances, nee Ursetta; loving father, of Lisa (Noel) Waitkus and Jennifer Odum; cherished grandfather of Donald (Shefali) Fritz, Tyler, Frank III and Jack Waitkus; devoted son of the late Howard Odum Sr. and Lois, nee Murphy; dear brother of James Odum and brother in law of Rosa (Dominick) Scumaci, Teresa (the late Frank) Gahiho. Marisa (Joseph) DeV^ Marncll and Carmine (Marie) Ursetta; fond uncle of many; and
WHEREAS, Howard was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War serving as a First Cavalry in the US Army; Doug loved to travel and was passionate about his family; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Howard to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this twenty second of July 2020, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Howard Douglas Odum Jr and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy;
