WHEREAS, Anita Portillo has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God to her eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Anita Portillo nee Barajas, 66, Loving mother of Roy (Susan), Diana (Eric) Rodriguez and the late Juanita; cherished grandmother of Roy III, Eric, Gabriella, Joei, Mateo, Xavier, and Mason; beloved daughter of the late Leocadio and Juanita (the late Ken Zay Chen) Barajas; dear sister of, Tony (Diane), David (Barbara), Diana (Kim), Noe (Diane) and the late Leocadio; and
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Anita Portillo to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in a way they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twentieth day of September 2018, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Anita Portillo and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Anita Portillo.
