Congratulating Pastor Wade Hudson on his Consecration as Bishop
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that members of this Chamber congratulate Pastor Wade Hudson, an outstanding citizen and member of his community, on his consecration as Bishop;
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his consecration by Willie B. Cochran, Alderman of the 20th Ward;
WHEREAS, Wade Hudson was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, where he graduated from Percy Julian High School and went on to receive his Associates Degree in Psychology from Harold Washington College;
WHEREAS, Wade Hudson joined the U.S. Army and served multiple tours of duty including two for Operation Enduring Freedom;
WHEREAS, A twenty-year Army Veteran, Wade started his own non-for-profit organization to assist other veterans with housing, employment services and job training;
WHEREAS, God called Wade Hudson to the ministry in 2001 and he received his Master's and Doctorate Degrees at Gospel Ministry Outreach Theological Institute;
WHEREAS, Pastor Hudson was elected as the Pastor of Moses Temple in January 2011 where he continue his service to the community by organizing clothing and toy drives, feeding those in need, offering job placement and employment services, and assisting in the expungement process;
WHEREAS, In honor of his great work helping the Englewood community, Pastor Hudson is being elevated to Bishop on June 28, 2014;
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, assembled here this Wednesday, April 2, 2014 AD, join in celebration Bishop Wade Hudson; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Bishop Wade Hudson.
