BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
 
 
SECTION 1. THAT PORTION OF SOUTH LEAVITT STREET BEING 66 FEET IN WIDTH, LYING NORTH OF THE NORTH LINE OF WEST POLK STREET AND SOUTH OF THE SOUTH LINE OF WEST LEXINGTON EXTENDED WEST, ALL IN THE EAST HALF OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 18, TOWNSHIP 39 NORTH, RANGE 14, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, IN COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS as shaded and legally described by the words "HEREBY CLOSED" on the Plat hereto attached as Exhibit A, which Plat for greater certainty, is hereby made a part of this ordinance, be and the same is hereby closed to vehicular traffic except for a lane which shall be provided in said street for fire, police and other emergency vehicles, inasmuch as the same is intended for public use and the public interest will be subserved by such closing.
 
SECTION 2. No permanent structures can be erected in the streets to be closed to vehicular traffic. All sewer structures in the street to be closed to vehicular traffic shall be exposed to grade. The Department of Water Management has ingress and egress rights for the purpose of maintaining, replacing, removing and repairing sewer facilities and appurtenances. The beneficiary of the street closing, Chicago Park District, assumes any additional costs beyond normal restoration for any physical improvements that might be damaged as a result of sewer facilities maintenance or replacement.
 
 
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
