ORDINANCE

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. Subsection 17-17-0104-Q of the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago is hereby amended by deleting the language stricken through and by inserting the language underscored, as follows:

17-17-0104-Q Funeral and Interment Services. Provision of services involving the care, preparation or disposition of human the dead. The following are funeral and interment services use types:

1. Cemetery/ Mausoleum/ Columbarium. Land or facilities used for burial of the human dead.
2. Cremating. Crematory services involving the purification and reduction of the human or animal body by fire. Typical uses include crematories and crematoriums.
3. Undertaking. Undertaking services for human dead such as preparing the dead for burial and arranging and managing funerals. Typical uses include funeral homes and mortuaries.

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be effective upon passage and publication.
