SALUTE TO THE HONORABLE ANTHONY IOSCO
UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT


WHEREAS, For the past 12 years, the Honorable Anthony Iosco, has served on the bench of the Circuit Court of Cook County and has now retired; and

WHEREAS, After graduation from The University of Illinois in 1972, Judge Iosco obtained his JD from Northern Illinois University in 1978 and practiced law until 1983 when he was appointed Assistant Attorney General, a post he held until 1987;and

WHEREAS, From 1987 until 1989, Judge Iosco was a commercial loan attorney for the State of Illinois Department of Commerce & Community Affairs until his appointment as Chief of General Prosecutions for the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations; and

WHEREAS, In 1990, Judge Iosco returned to private practice for a decade until he became a Cook County Circuit Court judge. In addition, he sits on the Executive Committee of the Northern Illinois University Board of Trustees; and

WHEREAS, Judge Iosco has also served as Past President of the board of the Northern Illinois University Alumni Association, has co-chaired the Juvenile Justice Committee for the American Bar Association, has served on the executive board of the Justinian Society of Lawyers and is an active member of the Chicago and American Bar Associations, the Illinois Judges Association as well as the Illinois State Bar Association; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable Robert W. Fioretti, Alderman of the 2nd Ward, has apprised this august body of the significant milestone achieved by this noteworthy jurist; now therefore

BE IT RESOLVED That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago Council, gathered together this 12lh Day of December, 2012 AD, do hereby salute the Honorable Anthony Iosco on the occasion of his retirement from the bench and express our very best wishes for health and success in all his future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the Honorable Anthony Iosco....
