ORDERED, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to issue payments in conformity with the schedule herein set forth, to physicians, hospitals, nurses or other individuals, in settlement for hospital, medical and nursing services rendered to the injured members of the Police Department and/or the Fire Department herein named, provided such members of the Police Department and/or Fire Department shall enter into an agreement in writing with the City of Chicago to the effect that, should it appear that any of said members of the Police Department and/or Fire Department have received any sum of money from the party whose negligence caused such injury, or have instituted proceedings against such party for the recovery of damage on account of such injury or medical expenses, then in that event the City shall be reimbursed by such member of the Police Department and/or the Fire Department out of any sum that such member of the Police Department and/or Fire Department has received or may hereafterjreceive from such third party on account of such injury or medical expenses, not to exceed the expense in accordance with Opinion No. 1422 of the Corporation Counsel of said City, dated March 19, 1926. The payment of any of these bills shall not be construed as approval of any previous, claims pending or future claims for expenses or benefits on account of any alleged injury to the individuals ...
