SALUTE TO THE EXTRAODRINARY BUSINESS AND CIVIC CONTRIBUTIONS OF
ANN S. JHIN
WHEREAS, Anne S. Jhin is an outstanding business leader and remarkable citizen of her community who has made extraordinary contributions to the civic weal; and
WHEREAS, An accomplished executive in the beauty and barber supply industry, Anne S. Jhin took the reigns in 2006 of Jinny United, a beauty supply company that she and her late husband, Tae Hoon Jhin, founded in 1981. From its inception until her husband's passing, the Jhins built their business, moving from the original location on West Bryn Mawr Avenue to West Belmont Avenue in 1983 and, by 1988, they had taken up larger headquarters on North Kimball Avenue: and
WHEREAS, By the time of her husband's passing, the Jhin's has opened large distribution centers in Atlanta, Miami, and Kingston, Jaimaca as well as cash 'n carry outlets, a hair emporium and a successful and award-winning Korean/English beauty magazine; and
WHEREAS, Ann S. Jhin now took the lead in expanding the corporate business plan; opening new cash 'n carry outlets in Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and Mexico City, Mexico as well as a move to a new Chicago location on Cauldwell Avenue, more distribution centers in Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Oakland, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Trinidad, Mexico and a new international distribution center in New York City; and
WHEREAS, Ann S. Jhin has developed Jinny Beauty Supply into Jinny Corp, the largest multi-cultural beauty and professional salon / barber distributor in the world with a combined warehouse space of 1,280,000 square feet offering 60,000 different items and representing more than 400 manufacturers throughout the nation; and
WHEREAS, Ann S. Jhin's superior business acumen is only matched by her noteworthy community contributions that have been numerous. She is currently President ofthe National Unification Advisory Council of Chicago, the Chairman of Americas Midwest Korean American Associa...
