SUBSTITUTE ORDINANCE


WHEREAS, the Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the year 2013 of the City of Chicago (the "City") contains estimates of revenues receivable as grants from agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 8 of the Annual Appropriation Ordinance, the heads of various departments and agencies of the City have applied to agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies for grants to the City for various purposes; and

WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events has been awarded private grant funds in the amount of $250,000 by One Chicago Fund which shall be used for the Chicago Cultural Center Restoration/Renovation project; and

WHEREAS, the City, through its Department of TransportationfCDOT") has been awarded additional state grant funds in the amount of $200,000 from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity ("DCEO") which shall be used for DCEO Grant Roadway Beautification and Enhancement Projects; and

WHEREAS, the City through CDOT has been awarded additional federal grant funds in the amount of $16,951,000 by the Federal Highway Administration ("FHWA") which shall be used for the Surface Transportation Federal Construction Program; and

WHEREAS, the City through CDOT has been awarded state grant funds in the amount of $8,434,000 by the Illinois Department of Transportation ("IDOT") which shall be used forthe Surface Transportation State Construction Program; and

WHEREAS, the City through CDOT has been awarded additional federal grant funds in the amount of $1,050,000 by the FHWA which shall be used for the Surface Transportation Federal Engineering Program; and

WHEREAS, the City through CDOT has been awarded state grant funds in the amount of $263,000 by the IDOT which shall be used for the Surface Transportation State Engineering Program; and
