SALUTE TO CENTENARIAN RAYMOND DUBINSKI
 
 
WHEREAS, On April22, 2013, Raymond Dubinski, an outstanding citizen and lifelong Chicagoan, will join the bourgeoning ranks as this city's newest centenarian; and
 
WHEREAS, Raymond Dubinski started life as the son of the late Leon and Frances Dubinski. He grew up on the 2100 Block of North Kostner and graduated from Crane High School. On New Years Day in 1939, he married Marie Mencarini and their union was blessed with Lois, Phil, Jim, Dan, Ken and Jean. He now has 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Almost all of his progeny still reside in the greater Chicago area; and
 
WHEREAS, In 1946, Raymond and Marie, moved to the West Henderson address across from Brandt Park where he still resides. Both he and his children enjoyed many sports at that Chicago Park District facility and, despite a lifetime of heartache, he is and remains a Cubs fan; and
 
WHEREAS, Raymond Dubinski began working as an errand boy. He was later employed in the stationary and office supply field, initially for Utility Supply (who was acquired by United Stationers) for a total of 27 years and finished his working life at Public Stationary Company; and
 
WHEREAS, Raymond Dubinski is admired and loved by his family. He has always taught his children, grand-children and great-grandchildren by setting a good example, encouraging them to be kind to friends, getting along with their neighbors, and staying on the right path. At 100, he finds comfort in his faith and family, and still enjoys an occasional glass of wine; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Richard F. Mell, Alderman of the 33rd Ward has apprised this august body of the extraordinary milestone of his constituent; now therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, gathered together this 13lh Day of March, 2013 AD, do hereby salute Raymond Dubinski on his 100th year and extend our very best wishes for health, happiness and success in all he endeavors to do.
