SUBSTITUTE ORDINANCE


WHEREAS, the Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the year 2013 of the City of Chicago (the "City") contains estimates of revenues receivable as grants from agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 8 of the Annual Appropriation Ordinance, the heads of various departments and agencies of the City have applied to agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies for grants to the City for various purposes; and

WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events has been awarded additional public grant funds in the amount of $230,000 from the Chicago Park District which shall be used for the Summerdance and World Music Festival Programs; and

WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Public Health has federal carryover grant funds in the amount of $1,070,000 from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration which shall be used for the Minority AIDs Initiative Targeted Capacity Enhancement Program; and

WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Family and Support Services has been awarded private grant funds in the amount of $1,000,000 by World Business Chicago which shall be used for the NATO Legacy Fund project; and

WHEREAS, the City through its Office of Emergency Management and Communications has been awarded public grant funds in the amount of $75,000 from the Chicago Transit Authority which shall be used for the Camera Safety Partnership Program; and

WHEREAS, the City, through its Department of Transportation ("CDOT") has been awarded additional federal grant funds in the amount of $5,516,000 from the Federal Highway Administration ("FHWA") which shall be used for the construction phase ofthe Surface Transportation Program; and
