WHEREAS, the Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the year 2013 of the City of Chicago (the "City") contains estimates of revenues receivable as grants from agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies; and

WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 8 of the Annual Appropriation Ordinance, the heads of various departments and agencies of the City have applied to agencies of the state and federal governments and public and private agencies for grants to the City for various purposes; and

WHEREAS, the City through its Department of Transportation ("CDOT") has been awarded additional federal grant funds in the amount of $1,050,000 from the United States Federal Highway Administration ("USFHA") which shall be used for the construction phase of the Surface Transportation program; and

WHEREAS, the city through CDOT has been awarded additional state grant funds in the amount of $263,000 by the Illinois Department of Transportation which shall be used for the construction phase ofthe Surface Transportation program; and

WHEREAS, the City through CDOT has been awarded additional federal grant funds in the amount of $6,009,000 by the USFHA which shall be used for the engineering phase of the Surface Transportation program; now, therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. The sum of $7,322,000 not previously appropriated, representing increased grant awards is hereby appropriated from Fund 925 - Grant Funds for the year 2013.
