SALUTE TO TRINITY IRISH DANCERS 30'" ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, Trinity Irish Dancers, a revolutionary Irish dance school, is celebrating its 30 Anniversary of providing service to this city and entertainment to the world; and
WHEREAS, The Trinity program is held together by its powerful philosophy of empowerment that teaches its students life lessons both on and off the dance floor. Trinity strives to give back to the community through numerous community performances. Last year, Trinity Irish Dancers provided more than 200 shows for the Illinois area with roughly 50 being free outreach performances at senior centers, children's hospitals and other community centers; and
WHEREAS, Trinity Irish Dancers have appeared in numerous media venues, both local and national, including The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and Jay Leno, Conan, CBS This Morning, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Martha Stewart Show, and the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon. Their appearances on PBS television have garnered them two Emmys; and
WHEREAS, Trinity Irish Dancers have recently acquired the services of Dolores Taaffe, a Dublin, Ireland native and one of the world's premier Irish dance teachers. She has coached many Irish dancers to World Champion titles. Trinity Irish Dancers have earned 11 team gold metals and 33 titles at the World Irish Dance Championships. Under the direction of Dolores Taafee, the program has won an unprecedented 2 solo World Championship titles for the United
States; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Richard F. Mell, Alderman of the 33rd Ward, has apprised this august body of Trinity Irish Dancers three decades of outstanding accomplishments and the school's significant contributions to our city's cultural landscape; now therefore
