RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, David Frost has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of seventy-four; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, A widely admired member of the media, David Frost was the beloved husband for thirty years of Lady Carina Fitzalan-Howard; and
 
WHEREAS, David Frost was the much-adored father of Miles, Wilfred and George to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
 
WHEREAS, A graduate of Cambridge University, David Frost used his experience in that institution's Footlights Dramatic Club to launch his television career on the satirical program, That Was the Week That Was; and
 
WHEREAS, During his many years in broadcast journalism, David Frost conducted face-to-face interviews with some of the world's most prominent figures and world leaders, including virtually every United States president and every British prime minister; and
 
WHEREAS, David Frost conducted the ground-breaking interview of Richard Nixon in which the former president apologized for Watergate; and
 
WHEREAS, Over the course of more than five decades, David Frost brought information and entertainment to countless people; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of David Frost serve as an example to all; and
 
 
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared David Frost to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
 
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, David Frost imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this eleventh day of September, 2013, do hereby commemorate David Frost for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of David Frost.
