MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Clara Silve stri, nee Frabotta, on September 8, 2013, at the age of eighty-five; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on January 19, 1928, Clara was the devoted wife of Mario; beloved mother of Cook County Commissioner and former Village of Elmwood Park President, Peter N. Silvestri; loving grandmother of Christian Peter; dear sister of Luigi (Caterina), the later Alberto (the late Luisa) and the late Alverato (Lidia) Franbotta; fond aunt, cousin and friend to many; and
WHEREAS, As a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, member of Elmwood Park Women's Republican Organization and Elmwood Park Seniors' Club, Clara leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Clara will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this sixteenth day of October 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Clara Silvestri and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Clara Silvestri as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect. .
