MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Victoria "Vickie" P. Kovacs on November 12, 2013, at the age of eight-eight; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on August 17, 1928, Vickie was the devoted daughter of the late John and Mary Parrino; beloved wife of John G. Sr.; loving mother of James and the late John G. "Jack", Jr.; dearest grandmother of Tony (Lisa) and Vince (AN); dear sister of the late Josephine (the late James) Naatz; fond aunt of John, Susie, Jeff, Becci, James and Lisa; cherished great aunt of many nieces and nephews. Vickie leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Vickie was an active and vital member of her community who touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, generosity, heart and spirit; and
WHEREAS, Vickie will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-sixth day of November, 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Victoria "Vickie" P. Kovacs and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Victoria "Vickie" P. Kovacs as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
