MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Patricia M. Lamey, nee Meservey on November 1, 2013, at the age of eighty-four; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on July 29, 1929, Patricia was the beloved wife of the late Edward, Sr.; loving mother of Edward, Jr. "Ned", John "Jack" (Donna), Daniel Lamey and Ann (Dan) O'Donnell; dear grandmother of Daniel, Caitlin, Benjamin, Erin, Adam and Brendan; cherished sister of the late Benjamin Meservey; and, special aunt, great aunt and friend of many. Patricia leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Patricia touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, generosity, heart and spirit. As an active and vital member of her community, she was a proud member of the Sauganash Women's Club, Renaissance Art Club and the RRC Choir; and
WHEREAS, Patricia will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-sixth day of November, 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Patricia M. Lamey and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Patricia M. Lamey as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
