RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Robert Szurgot is celebrating his Eightieth birthday, with the past forty eight years at 513 West Wellington; and,
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this milestone by Alderman Thomas M. Tunney; and,
WHEREAS, Robert Szurgot was born on November 26, 1933, in Chicago to his devoted parents, Frank and Florence, loving brother to Sandy and Jan; and,
WHEREAS, Bob is a proud graduate of Lane Tech High School and Wright Junior College. After graduation he began his own company Sure Contractors; and,
WHEREAS, Bob married the love of his life, Ann Weisman on April 24, 1983; blending their children Kim, Bob, Tony, and Kim into one loving family unit; and,
WHEREAS, as the devoted Grandfather to Christopher, Matthew, Jason, Shannon, Adam and Michael and one great- grandchild, Tanner, Bob loves spending time with all of his grandchildren; and,
WHEREAS, Bob's love of community service, which continues on for eight decades, as he still volunteers at the local soup kitchen, helps with small theater groups and for the past fifty years on the Wellington Oakdale Old Glory Marching Society Parade, "WOOGMS" as it travels through the beautiful Lakeview community each Memorial Day & Labor Day; and,
WHEREAS, these days, if Bob is not in the garden, you could find Bob and Ann anywhere in the world, as Bob's love for travel, especially cruises, has taken them around the world and back; and,
WHEREAS, Bob's love of life and his ability to live it to the fullest, endears Bob to his family, friends and all who know him, and enables him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and members of the Chicago City Council assemble this twenty sixth day of November 2013, do hereby congratulate Robert Szurgot on his birthday, and express our best wishes for his continued health, happiness, success and achievement; and,
