CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO 07th DISTRICT POLICE OFFICER DEOLA ALEXANDER ON RETIREMENT FROM CHICAGO POLICE DEPARTMENT
 
 
WHEREAS, Deola Alexander joined the police force on December 7,1992 and retired from the Chicago Police Department on January 15, 2013, following Twenty years of dedicated public service; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this special event by the Honorable JoAnn Thompson, Alderman of the 16th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, Throughout her long and distinguished tenure, Deola Alexander received a life saving award, one department recommendation and six honorable mentions. She upheld the finest traditions of the law enforcement community and her hard work, commitment and dedication to duty earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues; and
 
WHEREAS, Deola Alexander devoted Twenty years of her life in service to the people of the City of Chicago and in doing so has personally ensured the City of Chicago is the healthy and vibrant community it is today, and
 
WHEREAS, Officer Alexander, Star #14368, is a valued member ofthe 07th Police District community and her presence will be sorely missed. She has earned the respect not only of her colleagues, but also of the grateful residents of the 07th District; and
 
WHEREAS, The leaders of this great City of Chicago are cognizant of the great debt owed our public servants; now, therefore,
 
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered this eleventh day of December 2013, do hereby express our gratitude and heartiest congratulations to 07th District Police Officer Deola Alexander as she retires from Twenty years of outstanding service to the people of this great city and we extend our very best wishes for her continued success and fulfillment; and
 
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Deola Alexander.
