ORDINANCE

WHEREAS, At the meeting of the City Council of the City of Chicago ("City .Council") held on December 11, 2013, two ordinances were introduced at the request of the Commissioner of the Department of Housing and Economic Development (now Commissioner of the Department of Planning and Development) that authorized the expenditure of Open Space Impact Fee Funds for the creation of school gardens at LaSalle II Magnet Elementary School [02013-9589] (the "LaSalle II Ordinance") and William Penn Elementary School [02013-9598] (the "Penn Ordinance"), referred to together as, the "Ordinances"). The Ordinances were referred to the Committee on Special Events, Cultural Affairs and Recreation (the "Committee"); and

WHEREAS, On January 14, 2014, the Committee held a hearing on the LaSalle II Ordinance, during which a floor amendment was made to correct erroneous directional references to the address of LaSalle II Magnet Elementary School, and then voted in favor of passage of the amended LaSalle II Ordinance; and

WHEREAS, At the meeting of the City Council held on January 15, 2014, the Chairman of the Committee delivered his committee report, in which he recommended passage of the amended LaSalle II Ordinance. However, due to an administrative error, the document that was transmitted to the City Clerk, and subsequently printed by the Clerk in the Journal of Proceedings, was the LaSalle II Ordinance that contained the erroneous references, as opposed to the amended LaSalle II Ordinance; and

WHEREAS, Following passage of the Penn Ordinance by the City Council on January 15, 2014, the Penn Ordinance was published in the Journal of Proceedings, at which point it was discovered that scriveners' errors resulted in an erroneous description of the Permanent Index Number and Legal Description of William Penn Elementary School in Exhibit A and Sub Exhibit A of the Penn Ordinance; and
