TRIBUTE TO THE LIFE OF MARVIN LORENZO BLACK
WHEREAS, Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom, has called Marvin L. Black, an outstanding citizen and member of the community, to his everlasting reward on Saturday, March 8, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Born in Chicago November 15, 1935 Marvin Lorenzo was loving son of James and Alma V. Black. Marvin received his education through the Chicago Public School system. He excelled in guitar lessons and later became the guitarist in the high school band and for the Air Force USO bands; and
WHEREAS, WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Marvin confessed his faith in the Lord and was baptized. He was a vital and active member of Carter Temple CME Church and a participated joyously with"the junior choir. Marvin served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He was trained in Law Enforcement and became a Military (Air) Police; and
WHEREAS, Symbolic of the strength and stability of family life Marvin and the former Cleo Y. Oliver were united in holy matrimony. The shared over fifty-six years of wedded bliss and to this union fojjr children were born, Nadine, Jacqueline, Marvell and Alma; and

^WHERSEAS,,.Marvin, a dedicated employee of Spiegel's, Frigid Meats, Inc, United States Steel ^Company ori.£tvArthur Anderson Consulting, he was very competent. He joined the Masonic " Fraternily over^forty-five years ago and through the years was raised to 33°, and excelled to becoming a Grand Master of Mt. Hermon, St. John, Grand Lodge, Ancient Free and Accepted Masorfsj a position he held for over twelve years and became a life member; and
WHEREAS, Marvin Lorenzo Black leaves behind to celebrate his life and cherish his memory his wife, Clo; children Jacqueline Johnson Black (Kelvyn), Alma Fields, and Marvell J. Black; grandchildren, Di'Andre, Erica, Wayne, Jacquena, Kelvyn, Antoinette and Tyrese; great grandchildren, Joseph, Emauri, Jordan and Bryson and a host of other relatives and friends.
